Provides overview of the current strategies for preventing vertical HIV transmission and insights for the triple elimination agenda globally

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Describe the current strategies and global progress in the prevention of vertical transmission of HIV
  2. Understand the key challenges that impede achievement of the final elimination targets (“the last mile”) for vertical HIV transmission
  3. Explain how lessons learned from the prevention of vertical HIV transmission have informed and strengthened broader public health and maternal-child health initiatives, particularly the triple elimination
