Lisa Thaniel, DSW, LICSW is a clinical social worker in the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's National Hospital, a role she has held for more than 20 years. Dr. Thaniel provides psychosocial services to patients and families in the Division of Hematology. She earned a doctoral degree in clinical social work from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice and a master's degree in social work from Boston College School of Social Work. Her current research interests include social determinants of health, adverse childhood experiences, complementary and integrative medicine, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
