Dr. Ring, an accomplished healthcare professional, and currently serves as the Interim Director and Education Lead at Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC. Holding the position of Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences at George Washington University, she has made significant contributions to the field.

Her areas of expertise and interests encompass educational program development, simulation, quality improvement, and improving procedural pain management. In her current interim and education role, she is dedicated to furthering the development and expansion of APP educational professional development and leadership structures.

Her list of accolades is extensive, including the 2003 Excellence in Nursing Practice Award from Children’s National Medical Center, the 2009 Recognition of Outstanding Dedication and Service from The National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses, and the 2016 Alumni Award for Excellence in Doctoral Studies from The Catholic University of America. With a solid educational background, Dr. Ring earned her Diploma in Nursing from the New England Deaconess School of Nursing in Boston, MA, followed by a BSN from George Mason University, an MSN from Duke University, and a DNP from The Catholic University of America. Her academic prowess extends to her roles as Adjunct nursing faculty at GWU, as well as her involvement as a Conway Nursing Research Scholar.

Certified in both primary care and acute care, Dr. Ring has a diverse clinical background, ranging from the Emergency Department to Trauma and Burn, and for over 10 years was dedicated to the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery. She assumed the role of Education Lead for the Department of Advanced Practice Providers in 2018, showcasing her commitment to fostering educational excellence. In 20254 she became the APP Director.

Dr. Ring has played a pivotal role in developing and facilitating onboarding processes for new APPs, coordinating graduate nursing student clinical placements, and implementing a successful APP mentoring program. Her efforts extend beyond the hospital, as she has led national meetings to standardize and collaborate with other children's hospitals, presenting her expertise on APP education, pain management, and discharge medication safety.
