Courtney Long is a Speech-Language Pathologist and Certified Lactation Counselor who has practiced in the field for thirteen years. She has worked across a variety of settings and has been in pediatric acute care practice over the last six years. Courtney works routinely with infant through adult populations struggling with swallowing, upper airway and cognitive-communication disorders. She specializes in oropharyngeal dysphagia, voice/upper airway anomalies and motor speech deficits and spends a majority of her time dedicated to populations in the cardiac intensive care unit, PICU and neurocritical care. Courtney has been published in the area of paradoxical vocal cord motion disorders and is currently engaged in research and quality improvement regarding cardiothoracic related vocal cord injury and feeding outcomes, optimization of posterior fossa syndrome institutional screening processes and eye gaze augmentative technology for patients with diffuse midline glioma.
