Evanda Miles is a dedicated and accomplished registered nurse currently serving as a Professional Development Specialist in the Nursing Education and Professional Development Department at Children’s National Medical Center. With over a decade of service at Children’s, Evanda brings a wealth of clinical expertise, leadership experience, and a passion for lifelong learning to her new role.
Evanda began her journey at Children’s in 2015 as a Child Care Technician, quickly advancing to a registered nurse position in 2016 on the Heart and Kidney Unit. Her commitment to excellence and patient-centered care led her to the Cardiac Procedure Recovery Unit, where she worked from May 2022 to October 2024. Throughout her nursing career, she has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, serving as a charge nurse, preceptor, and team leader for over seven years.
In addition to her clinical roles, Evanda has contributed to hospital-wide initiatives as a member of the Skin and Wound Team and the Clinical Advancement Program, reflecting her dedication to improving patient outcomes and supporting professional growth among her peers.
Evanda holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Liberty University and a Master’s in Public Health from George Washington University. She is passionate about continuing her education and aspires to pursue a second master’s or a doctoral degree in the near future.
Outside of her professional life, Evanda enjoys reading, exploring new restaurants, and spending quality time with her family and friends. Known for her strong work ethic, compassion, and drive for excellence, she is committed to fostering a culture of learning and development within the nursing profession.
