Jill Savege Scharff, MD, FABP (Chevy Chase, MD) is a child and adult supervising psychoanalyst, couple and family therapist.  She is a clinical professor of psychiatry at Georgetown University Medical School, an online psychoanalytic educator in USA, China and Russia, author and editor of books on individual, couple and family psychotherapy and teleanalysis, all from an object relations perspective.  She is the co-founder of the International Psychotherapy Institute (IPI) and its analytic, couple and family, combined child analysis/psychotherapy training programs www.theipi.org, and its China Child training program at www.Jiandanxinli.com.  She recently edited An Introduction to Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (Karnac, 2024 and in Chinese 2025) and Arminda Aberastury’s Theory and Technique of Child Analysis (Karnac, 2025). She is the recipient of the 2021 Sigourney Award for her global outreach of psychoanalysis.
