Nicole Bentinganan, MLIS
Health Sciences Librarian, Children’s National Hospital
Nicole Bentinganan is the Health Sciences Librarian at Children’s National Hospital, where she has served since February 2025. In this role, she supports researchers and clinicians by assisting with literature reviews, teaching about research and writing tools, retrieving hard-to-find articles, and presenting on library resources across the organization. She also embraces the ever-mysterious “other duties as assigned”—which have included everything from citation sleuthing to knowing how to format APA citations properly.
Before joining Children’s, Nicole worked as a contractor at the Library of Congress, where she developed a deep appreciation for the power of organized information and public access to knowledge.
Nicole currently leads the development of the hospital’s Research Database, a centralized and searchable repository of all CNH publications. This initiative enhances institutional visibility, supports annual reporting, and provides a valuable resource for researchers, clinicians, and administrators alike.
She holds a Master’s in Library and Information Science from Florida State University and is a passionate advocate for research visibility, scholarly identity management, and the evolving role of libraries in supporting evidence-based practice.
