Mahdieh Bodaghi, Board certified adult, child and adolescent psychiatrist
Mahdieh (Emmie) Bodaghi, M.D. completed her psychiatry residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth Texas and fast tracked into the fellowship program at UT Southwestern in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Through her training, she gained expertise in treatment of psychiatric disorders in adult, children and adolescents with mental health disorders. Post graduation from fellowship, Dr. Bodaghi focused her time on developing and implementing telehealth services for the state of Maine. Previously, as part of Northern Light Health Systems, she established and acted as the very first child and adolescent psychiatrist inpatient tele-doctor and director of outpatient services via telehealth and proceeded to support the implementation of telepsychiatry services to outpatient clinics with integrated care, emergency rooms, and medically admitted patients. Dr. Bodaghi was first employed by Children's National Hospital in 2019 as a part time psychiatrist caring for patients on the inpatient psychiatric unit. In 2020, Dr. Bodaghi accepted the role of the medical director of psychiatry consult liaison service at Children's National Hospital. In this role, she has been a teacher, mentor and advocate for children with mental health needs while hospitalized with a medical illness. Dr. Bodaghi’s focus has been in psychopharmacology especially as related to treatment of autism spectrum disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders and most recently catatonia. Dr. Bodaghi has been a speaker nationally on recognition of symptoms of catatonia and its treatment options.
