Sun-Young Ahn, MD, completed pediatric nephrology training at the University of California San Diego and served as a faculty member with the Pediatric Nephrology Division at Washington University in St. Louis before joining Children's National Hospital. Her current clinical interests include congenital kidney anomalies, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, urinary tract infection, electrolyte disorders and complement-mediated kidney diseases. Dr. Ahn’s research has focused on the functional and structural characterization of organic anion transporters in the kidney, and investigating the role of scaffolding proteins in kidney development. She has numerous publications in the field of nephrology and is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology.
