Series Description
Medical emergencies are not part of everyday practice in the ambulatory and outpatient setting; however, when they occur the medical team need to react swiftly and manage the care until an emergency response team arrives which may include the code response team, rapid response team or EARS team in the main hospital.

Learning Objective 1: Assess a deteriorating patient using a structured approach (ABCDE).
Learning Objective 2: Apply emergency management skills to manage deteriorating patient.
Learning Objective 3: Apply safety techniques (e.g. closed loop communication and SBAR) to achieve a shared mental model.
