Caraline Gunther, LPC

Caraline Gunther is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling. She has worked in community clinics, private practice, and currently serves as a trauma therapist at Children's National Medical Center.
Caraline is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and is a certified yoga instructor. She uses an eclectic approach to therapy, drawing from CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Mindfulness, all within a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach. Caraline incorporates somatic practices, such as breathwork, yoga, and Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping) to strengthen the mind-body connection.
In her current role as a trauma therapist at Children's National Medical Center, Caraline provides therapy to children and adolescents that have experienced domestic violence. Caraline helped develop the Therapeutic Parenting Program created to provide group therapy to the non-offending parents of the children and adolescents seen in the Child and Adolescent Protection Center.
Caraline is deeply committed to holding a compassionate space where patients feel safe to process and heal at their own pace.
