Series Description
Informing and educating professional social workers of the latest literature and trends around opportunities and challenges impacting families and patients served by Children's National. These activities also aim to satisfy requirements for state licensure requirements for social workers.

Learning Objectives:
- Participants will analyze current relevant controversial topics pertaining to social work in the pediatric healthcare setting
- Participants will embark on productive and interactive discussions around ethical work/practices and realistic case examples and experiences in the pediatric health care setting
- Participants will compare existing and new tools allowing for enhancement in their practices in the pediatric health care setting
- Through reflection, participants will be able to create and inspire discussions around diversity within patient populations and culturally competency within the health care setting

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Children’s National Hospital. Credit Designation Statement
Social Work: As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Children’s National Hospital is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 2.0 general continuing education credits.
