Rebecca Cahill, CEM, BA
Becca Cahill has more than a decade of experience in hospital emergency management. In her current role as the Emergency Management Program Manager at Children’s National Hospital, she facilitates plan development and training on topics including incident command, decontamination, and business continuity planning. Becca also supports regional and nationwide efforts, including representing Children’s National in the DC Health and Medical Coalition (HMC) and the Pediatric Pandemic Network Joint Pediatrics Special Pathogens Workgroup. Prior to Children’s National, Becca was the Emergency Preparedness Program Manager at Boston Children’s Hospital and the AmeriCorps Disaster and International Preparedness Specialist at the American Red Cross. Becca is a Certified Emergency Manager from the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM).She has served in a hospital command center for more than 50 emergency responses, including severe weather events, a cyber-attack, COVID, and the Boston Marathon bombing. Prior to working in hospital operations, she served as the AmeriCorps Disaster and International Preparedness Specialist at the American Red Cross, where she responded to local emergencies and was deployed to Louisiana for Hurricane Katrina.
