Series Description

Many staff members have limited knowledge of processes involved during disasters (e.g. code orange: Mass casualty) and their role throughout the event. Providing hands-on emergency response training will provide staff with the opportunity to learn about and engage in emergency response protocols in simulation-based scenarios so they are prepared in the event of an actual emergency. This may include but is not limited to- knowledge about available resources, emergency exits, and use of med sleds.

Social Workers: As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Children’s National Hospital is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 1.0 General continuing education credits.
