  • Identify common symptoms of Hematologic conditions that may present to the Emergency Department
  • Develop differential diagnoses for complex hematologic cases based on clinical presentation and initial laboratory results
  • Review initial management strategies for patient stabilization

EM/CCM Electrolyte abnormalities:  Dr. Branson

  • Describe the pathophysiology and common causes of electrolyte disturbances in the pediatric population.
  • Identify the clinical signs and symptoms associated with common abnormalities (e.g., hyponatremia, hypernatremia, hypokalemia, hyperkalemia, hypocalcemia).
  • Outline evidence-based management strategies for common pediatric electrolyte disturbances.
  • Recognize electrolyte abnormalities that constitute medical emergencies and require urgent intervention.
