Narrative/Learning Objectives:

Provide a brief overview of eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia, acute restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), eating disorders not specified, relative energy deficiency in sports (RED’s).
Define admission criteria and review co-management with the adolescent medicine consult service
Review the eating disorder protocol (including pathways/ order sets), management of malnutrition and refeeding syndrome and other issues relevant to inpatient eating disorder care.
Discuss multidisciplinary care including inpatient case management, SW, psychiatry, psychology supports. Also, outpatient, IOP, PHP and residential levels of care for patients with eating disorders
Describe the discharge criteria for eating disorders, including payor issues and reimbursement tips for documentation.
