Matthew Magyar, MD, MPH
Matt Magyar, MD is an attending physician in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Children’s National Hospital. He attended medical school at the University of Toledo. Residency was completed at the University of Illinois – Chicago where he participated in a community health and advocacy track. He then moved to Washington, DC to complete a fellowship in Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Children's National. After graduating he was subsequently hired on as faculty at Children's and now splits time between the DC campus and a community site in Fredericksburg, VA. Outside of work he has completed a Master of Public Health with a health policy concentration at GWU as well as additional training including a graduate certificate in LGBT Health Policy and the Health Policy Scholars Program through the Academic Pediatric Association.
His research interests broadly include health policy, advocacy and global health. He is a member of both the local and national chapters of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is active in the Section on Early Career Physicians. Through the George Washington University, he serves as a course co-director for the Applied Population Health course in the School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
