Melanie Anspacher completed her medical education at the University of California, San Francisco in 1999 and pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in 2002.  Since 2006 she has worked as an Attending Physician in the Division of Hospital Medicine at Children’s National Hospital and is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at George Washington University.  She frequently cares for patients at Children’s Rehabilitation & Specialized Care (formerly the HSC Pediatric Center), a post-acute care hospital and skilled nursing facility where she served as the Medical Director from 2015 to 2023.  Her interests include care of the medically complex child, palliative care, and education of trainees.
