Series Description

The goal of this webinar series is to implement emergency preparedness procedures and standardize processes in Neonatal Intensive Care Units of Level IV Children's Hospitals. Level IV NICUs at free-standing children's hospitals face the unique challenge of being large academic referral centers for multiple community NICUs in their geographic locations. They are often called upon as referral centers in disasters, but they also shape policies in their locales. The Children's Hospitals Neonatal Consortium (CHNC) is a collaborative of 49+ academic children's hospitals NICUs dedicated to improving practice in level IV NICUs. Establishing and sharing best practices in emergency response and preparedness will ensure that many NICUs across the nation will be prepared to face this challenge.
