Series Description
Children’s National is a Level I Pediatric Trauma and Burn Center, providing specialized care for children with traumatic and burn injuries. These learning videos are designed to help staff nurses build confidence and competence in managing complex assessments, initiating critical interventions, and providing long-term care. Nurses will learn to recognize early signs of decompensation, respond to complications, and communicate effectively with trauma and surgical teams to improve outcomes and care efficiency.

Learning Objectives
- Expand Knowledge of Pediatric Trauma Management: Listeners will gain insights into current evidence-based guidelines for managing unintentional and intentional pediatric injuries, enhancing their confidence in making informed clinical decisions.
- Recognize Early Signs of Decompensation: Through case discussions and expert insights, listeners will learn to identify early signs of decompensation in pediatric trauma patients and explore effective intervention strategies.
- Strengthen Decision-Making and Documentation Skills: Listeners will better understand how to make timely decisions regarding care escalation, trauma activation, and long-term referral options, while improving accuracy in trauma resuscitation documentation
