Mariana Passos, MD

Dr. Mariana Passos is a Pediatric Palliative Care Fellow at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. She is dedicated to supporting children with serious illnesses and their families through compassionate, family-centered care. Her clinical interests include communication strategies, ethical decision-making in pediatric medicine and complex symptom management.
Originally from Brazil, Dr. Passos earned her medical degree and completed her pediatric residency training in São Paulo, where she developed a strong foundation in caring for children with complex medical needs. In 2025, she began subspecialty training in pediatric palliative care, driven by her commitment to improving quality of life for patients and families facing life-limiting conditions.
Dr. Passos is passionate about advancing the field through education, advocacy, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Passos values mentorship and professional development, aiming to empower healthcare teams to deliver holistic and compassionate care.
