To improve the efficiency and standardization of NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) code events.

Learner Objectives

1. Explore the expectations of the roles of the NICU team during a code event a. Review the roles and assigned tasks. b. Review how to implement a teamwork approach to care.
2. Review the NRP algorithm for code events in the neonatal population. a. Demonstrate correct use of the algorithm and circumstances for deviation. b. Demonstrate proper use of emergency equipment & medications. c. Discuss ways to give effective feedback
3. Explore ways to help the team develop critical thinking skills. a. Using how, what, and why questions. b. Use the what if game to develop critical thinking skills
