Series Description

The 1-hour monthly Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) one-on-one interactive series is designed for investigators and study team members conducting research in service settings who seek rigorous, practical ethics training that fits into real-world research workflows. The program fully aligns with NIH’s requirement for ongoing ethics continuing education and research training, covering the entire research lifecycle from conceptualization and development through conducting and publishing. It also explicitly addresses current and emerging regulatory issues, challenges, and best practices. Core requirements are integrated into the design, including annual Ethics Case Studies discussions, while ensuring that funded investigators meet the minimum documented in-person 8 hours over 2 years, which is interactive. Throughout the year, sessions will highlight essentials such as research misconduct, data management, scientific rigor and reproducibility, authorship and publication, peer review, conflicts of interest, mentor/mentee responsibilities, collaborative science, civility in research environments, laboratory safety and biosafety, human and animal subjects, and the scientist’s role in society. No preregistration is required. All materials are archived for post-event on-demand access—please see the schedule for upcoming sessions and join us to promote a culture of integrity and excellence in research.
