Series Description
The Infection Prevention Champions program will now meet monthly to provide essential training and updates to staff who care for pediatric patients with infections. The initiative focuses on equipping staff with sound, evidence-based information to ensure the safety and well-being of both patients and healthcare teams. Each monthly session covers a different topic of concern, with feedback from evaluations used to guide the future sessions. The upcoming session will set the foundation with the necessary tools and best practices regarding Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infections (CLABSIs), while providing updates on PPE requirements for pediatric patients presenting with high-risk or emerging special pathogens at Children's National Hospital. This training is to ensure the safe and effective management of such cases, while prioritizing the protection of both patients and healthcare staff.
