Deena Chisolm

Dr. Deena Chisolm is the Nationwide Foundation endowed chair in Health Equity Research and professor of Pediatrics and Public Health at The Ohio State University. She is the director of the Center for Child Health Equity and Outcomes Research and vice president for Health Services Research in the Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Her research focuses on improving health and healthcare for children and families with over 120 peer-reviewed publications and nearly 20 years of continuous federal grant funding. Her current projects explore how healthcare delivery systems, health policies and social drivers of health influence healthcare accesses and health outcomes. Dr. Chisolm prioritizes bringing her research findings and her methodological expertise into the government sector. This has included being appointed to serve on the CMS Federal Advisory Council on Outreach and Education and the Governor’s COVID-19 Strike Force. She is the former chairman of the Ohio Commission on Minority Health board and current serves as board chairman of the Health Policy Institute of Ohio Board and the vice president of the Columbus Board of Health.
