Scott Hadland, MD, MPH, MS

Scott Hadland is the Chief of Adolescent Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. He is an internationally renowned expert in teen health whose clinical care and research focus on preventing and treating drug and alcohol use. Dr. Hadland’s work is funded by the National Institutes of Health and the CDC, among other funders. His research has been published in The New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, Lancet, and other leading journals, and has been featured in The New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, NBC, and NPR, among other leading news outlets. In 2023, he was selected to the Presidential Leadership Scholars program, which brings together national leaders committed to facing critical challenges in partnership with the Clinton Presidential Center and George W. Bush Presidential Center. Dr. Hadland also serves on a World Health Organization advisory group establishing standards in the measurement of adolescent health outcomes across the globe.
