Melissa Long, MD
Melissa Long, M.D., is a general pediatrician With Children’s National Primary Care in Washington, D.C., and an assistant professor of Pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She has led initiatives focused on improving the integration of mental health into primary care. From 2019 to 2021, she served as the Director of the D.C. Mental Health Access in Pediatrics (DC MAP) program, designed to support pediatric providers in the District with integrating mental health into pediatric primary care and with improving their comfort in addressing their patients’ mental health concerns. She currently leads the Community Core program, working to identify family social needs and partner with families to connect to community based resources to address these needs. Additional clinical interests include caring for adolescent parents and their children and medical education.
