Ruth Hollo, MD

Ruth Hollo, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine. She has been a member of the faculty at Children’s National Hospital since 2007, where she currently serves as Associate Division Chief of Operations, Quality, and Safety for Goldberg Primary Care and practices at Children’s National Primary Care at Shaw Metro. Dr. Hollo completed her pediatric residency and served as Chief Resident in the National Capital Consortium Pediatrics Residency Program, and earned her MD from the University of Michigan School of Medicine, where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha.
Dr. Hollo’s clinical and administrative career has focused on advancing access, quality, and safety in pediatric primary care, particularly for underserved and complex populations. Her leadership roles have included Medical Director and Assistant Medical Director of Children’s Health Center, Director of the Healthy Generations Program for adolescent parents and their children, and Site Director for a pediatric residency program. She has led and participated in numerous quality improvement initiatives, including projects focused on well-child access, continuity of care, workflow standardization, and implementation of system-wide tools such as self-scheduling and QGenda.
An experienced medical educator and mentor, Dr. Hollo has served for over a decade as a portfolio advisor in the pediatric residency program and has held a faculty appointment at George Washington University since 2008. She completed advanced training in medical education leadership and more recently in quality improvement leadership, and she frequently contributes to institutional initiatives at the intersection of clinical care, education, and health system improvement.
