Amanda (she/her) joined Children's National in 2023 from Boston Children's Hospital, where she completed her pediatrics residency, PEM fellowship, as well as an Advocacy and Public Policy fellowship. In addition to working in the ED, she served as the Lead Physician for Clinician Advocacy in the Boston Children's Hospital Office of Government Relations. Her research is focused on child and family homelessness, children seen in the emergency department in police custody, and screening for and addressing health-related social needs. She has been involved in legislative advocacy around addressing housing instability, food insecurity, insurance coverage for immigrant children, improving the pediatric behavioral healthcare system, and other policy solutions to address adverse social determinants of health for children and families.
