Kathleen Brown
I am a pediatric emergency medicine physician with 30 years of experience. My focus is on improving emergency and prehospital care of children, evidence-based care and the translation of research into practice. I have participated in numerous multi-center trails and Quality Improvement collaboratives. I have also designed, implemented, evaluated and published multiple Quality Improvement projects. From 2014- 2016 I served as the HRSA EMSC National Resource Center Medica Director. During that time, I helped develop and lead the first EMSC Learning and Quality Improvement collaboratives that were designed to address HRSA EMSC performance measures. Currently I help lead the EMS domain of the HRSA EMSC Innovation and Improvement Center (EIIC) the National Prehospital Pediatric Readiness Project. I am also a long time steering commitee member for the HRSA funded National Pediatric Readiness Project, a board member of the Prehospital Evidence-Based Guideline Consortium and the National EMS Quality Alliance (NEMSQA). I was a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) expert panel for quality measure development and represent ACEP on the National Core Quality Measures Collaborative (CQMC). I am the author/coauthor of multiple policy statements by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and ACEP on quality and quality measurement in emergency care of children.
