Tic disorders: Management & Family Psychoeducation

Learning objectives:

  1. Learner will be able to identify most common age group for tic disorders and understand the typical progression of these disorders. 

  2. Learner will be able to identify both non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic options for management of tic disorders. 

  3. Learner will gain strategies for talking about tics with children and families. 

 

 

When Trauma Presents as Emotional Dysregulation: Diagnostic and Treatment Challenges in a Foster Care Child

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe how trauma-related disorders can present as emotional and behavioral dysregulation in children.

  2. Differentiate trauma-related emotional dysregulation from other pediatric psychiatric conditions that often present with behavioral disturbance in inpatient settings.

  3. Discuss clinical and treatment implications for managing emotional dysregulation in children with complex trauma histories.
