Dr. Matthew Bramble is an Assistant Professor and data science faculty member of the Precision Medicine and Genomics Research department at Children’s National Hospital. His work focuses on neglected diseases that affect pediatric populations in Low-to-Middle-Income Countries, particularly the Democratic Republic of Congo, where he spends much of his time. His work implements the use of multi-OMICS technologies to unravel the pathophysiology Konzo, a poverty driven, dietary-induced debilitating neurological condition that affects tens of thousands of children in sub-Saharan Africa. He’s primarily focused on understanding the biology of this disease with hopes to eventually develop preventative and therapeutic solutions.
