Splinting workshop – Lower extremity (this will be a hands on workshop)

  1. Describe the general principles of splinting material and application
  2. Formulate a plan for immobilization for common upper extremity fractures using the following splints:
  • Posterior short leg
  • Stirrup
  • Posterior long leg
  • Knee immobilizer
  1. Practice the application of the following upper extremity splints:
  • Long leg posterior
