Cynthia Colson, DNP, CPNP-PC/AC
Cindy Colson, DNP, CPNP PC/AC, is a dedicated healthcare professional with over two decades of experience, primarily focused on pediatric care. She began her journey in emergency medical services in 1999, volunteering with the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department for 12 years. Her career then led her to Children's National Hospital, where she worked as a Paramedic on the critical care transport team and later as a bedside nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
During her tenure, Cindy served as the Injury Prevention Coordinator for trauma and burn surgery, cultivating her passion for child advocacy and injury prevention. In 2023, she achieved a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from Johns Hopkins University.
Today, Cindy serves as a pediatric nurse practitioner for the Child and Adolescent Protection Center (CAPC) and the Emergency Department at Children's National Hospital. She remains committed to improving collaboration between EMS and hospitals, particularly in pediatric care, recognizing that children require specialized attention in emergencies.
