Bradford Garmon, DNP, MSN, CCRN, CNL, CPHQ
Brad Garmon is the Program Manager for Trauma & Burn Surgery at Children’s National Medical Center. Prior to this role, Brad was a PICU nurse, serving in tertiary pediatric hospitals such as INOVA Children’s Hospital and the Johns Hopkins Children Center. At Hopkins, Brad was the Lead Clinical Nurse in the PICU, focusing on quality and safety. Prior to nursing, Brad served a 15-year career as a firefighter/paramedic. He then transitioned his interest in prehospital care to the University of Virginia where he served as a Flight paramedic and then flight nurse for 6 years. Brad holds a Master of Nursing degree from the University of Virginia focusing on quality improvement and leadership. He recently completed his Doctor of Nursing Practice specializing in healthcare data analytics, human factors analysis and process improvement from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Brad is an adjunct instructor of Clinical Research and Leadership at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. His process improvement interests focus on clinical team adaptability, human factors integration, high acuity/low occurrence event management and healthcare safety systems.
