Katie Greenzang, MD, EdM
Dr. Katie Greenzang is a pediatric oncologist and health outcomes researcher at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Boston Children’s Hospital. She is the Director of Education of the Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, an Associate Program Director of the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at DFCI/BCH, and an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Greenzang’s research focuses on optimizing patient-provider communication and shared decision-making for children with cancer. She also conducts studies using patient-reported outcomes to identify and ultimately improve symptoms and quality of life for patients with cancer during and after treatment. Dr. Greenzang’s work, which has been funded by the National Cancer Institute and several foundations, focuses on developing interventions to facilitate education and communication about short and long-term side effects of cancer therapy to help patients and families make informed treatment decisions and to optimize quality of life for patients and survivors of childhood cancer.
Dr. Greenzang received her MD at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed her pediatrics residency and served as a chief pediatric resident at the University of Washington’s Seattle Children’s Hospital. She received fellowship training in pediatric hematology/oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Boston Children’s Hospital. She also holds a master’s degree in education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Dr. Greenzang’s clinical focus is on the care of children with extra-cranial solid tumors and survivors of childhood cancer.
