James Hamilton, Ph.D. Clinical Psychology
Dr. Jim Hamilton is currently associate professor adjunct in the department of pediatrics at the Yale School of Medicine, and associate professor emeritus in the department of psychology at the University of Alabama. He took his undergraduate degree in psychology at Clark University in Worcester, MA., and his master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology at Case Western Reserve University. His training combined social and clinical psychology, and he applies these areas of expertise in his teaching, research, and clinical work related to illness behavior. His areas of interest are excessive medical illness behavior, particularly the abuse of children through overmedicalization. He is a member of the APSAC Task Force on Medical Child Abuse / Munchausen by Proxy Abuse, and is a member of the Board of Directors if Munchausen Support. He maintains an active consulting practice involving the forensic evaluation of medical deception, factitious disorder, malingering, and medical child abuse
