E. Thomaseo Burton, PhD, MPH

E. Thomaseo Burton, Ph.D. is a pediatric psychologist in the Health & Wellbeing Program at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. In this role, Dr. Burton provides psychological care for children, adolescents, and their families with overweight, obesity, and related health concerns. Dr. Burton’s research seeks to develop and implement high quality and culturally relevant behavioral interventions for youth with obesity, with a particular focus on mindfulness-based interventions. He is committed to increasing representation of psychologists of color and actively mentors and supervises psychology trainees, from high school to postdoctoral fellowship.
Dr. Burton earned a PhD in clinical psychology from Purdue University as well as an MPH with a focus on community health. He completed postdoctoral training in pediatric obesity at Boston Children’s Hospital / Harvard Medical School. Dr. Burton is board certified in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology.
