Ariel Blakey, PhD, MA

Ariel Blakey is a current psychology resident here at Children’s National Hospital. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Spelman College. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted research at various institutions including the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, exploring factors influencing parental decision-making, and at Children’s National Hospital, investigating factors impacting caregiver stress. She recently graduated from Boston University with her PhD in Clinical Psychology. While at BU, Ariel was a member of the Child and Family Health Lab, mentored by Kristin Long. Ariel’s research broadly focuses on understanding and addressing health disparities amongst underserved and racially/ethnically marginalized pediatric populations. In addition to her academic pursuits, Ariel participates in several initiatives aimed at advancing the field of psychology, most notably through her engagement in the Society of Pediatric Psychology (APA Division 54).
